Terms of Service — SG Golden Star

These terms govern your use of SG Golden Star ("the App"), operated by SGGoldenStar. By using the App you agree to them.

What the App does

The App shows your books in plain words. It can connect to your QuickBooks Online company, or keep your books on its own, set up for what the books are for (a family, a freelancer, a store, a service company, a landlord or a non-profit). You can add people to your books and choose what each person sees and whether they can look, suggest a change, or change the books. The App does not replace QuickBooks, does not file taxes, and does not give accounting, tax, legal or financial advice.

Your account

• Anyone can make an account with an email address. The App emails you a link to pick your password.
• You sign in with your email address and your password. You can add a second step: a 6-digit code texted to your phone, or shown by an authenticator app. The App may ask everyone for that second step. Keep your password and your email account safe.
• You decide who is added to your books and what they may do. You are responsible for the people you add.
• You must have the right to connect any QuickBooks company or bank account you connect.

Changes to your books

• On a book connected to QuickBooks, a change made by a person who has permission to change the books is sent to QuickBooks right away. A suggestion waits until someone with permission approves it.
• On a book kept in the App, a change made by a person with permission is saved in the App's own books right away, and the App's records are the books. An entry that is cancelled stays in the history, marked cancelled.
• The App refuses changes in periods closed in QuickBooks or in the App, and records every change with who made it and when. Review changes before you make them; for connected books, QuickBooks remains the official record.

Your data

Your data stays yours. You allow the App to process it only to provide the App to you, as described in the Privacy Policy, which also says what the App keeps and how to have it deleted. Most reports can be downloaded as CSV or Excel, or printed, so you can keep your own copy.

Acceptable use

Do not use the App for anything unlawful, do not try to reach books you were not added to, and do not interfere with the App or its security.

Price

• Each set of books costs $10 a month, after 7 free days. No card is needed for the free days. People you add to your books are free.
• If a book is not paid after the free days, it becomes look only: you can still see it, but not change it. Nothing is deleted. Paying opens it again.
• After a book has been look only for 30 days, its linked banks are removed at Plaid. The rows already brought in stay.
• You can stop any time on the Settings page. In the Paying section, press Stop paying (if you have not added a card, there is nothing to stop). When a stopped plan ends, the book becomes look only, and nothing is deleted.
• The owner of a book can also delete the book and all its data there: Settings, then Danger zone, then Delete this book. That cannot be undone.
• Custom work is priced before you pay.

Availability and liability

The App is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, SGGoldenStar is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the App.

Disconnecting and leaving

You can disconnect QuickBooks at any time, in the App or in QuickBooks under Apps. Disconnecting stops all access to your QuickBooks data at once; the copy already in the App stays. To have your data deleted, write to support@mail.sggoldenstar.com, as the Privacy Policy says.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we update this page and the date at the top. Using the App after an update means you accept the new terms.
